So far the new year has been going fine—although a bit quiet. Last night was book club—the first one we’ve had since November. We didn’t schedule one in December because we figured it would be too hectic with the holidays and odds of a good turnout weren’t that great.

Despite having the extra time, I didn’t read the book at all, but of course still attended. I wasn’t really feeling like running out to the grocery store to pick up a snack or beverage for the meeting, so instead I whipped up some lemon bars since I had all the ingredients on hand and the tree outside my apartment had many lemons ripe for the taking. I suppose that’s totally one of the major benefits of working from home—having time to bake something before an evening meeting!

At any rate, we had a decent turnout, and a good number of people read the book. This time around the book is a murder mystery type genre, which is usually pretty interesting, so I think I will actually read and finish the book this time. :)
