Opulent Raglan
Well, it only took me about 4 months (though I did not work on this full-time by any means), but I finally completed the sweater I was working on. It wasn’t a hard piece to work on, as it was mostly the same for the entire length of the sweater (especially once you got past the raglan decrease part). For the most part, I did not deviate from the pattern, except that instead of the normal turned hem it called for, I knit 1 inch in 1x1 rib. I also did 1 inch of 1x1 rib on the sleeves, immediately after the last decreases, instead of the belled sleeves.
I found that I had to do many more repeats of the cable pattern, as my row gauge was way off. Despite the difference in gauge, I had a ton of yarn left-I had bought 5 skeins and only wound up using 3 1/2.
Anyway, I think that I am pleased with the end result:
Pattern: Opulent Raglan by Wendy Bernard, Knitscene Fall 2008
Needles: US 5 and US 6
Yarn: 3 1/2 skeins Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool in #27 Periwinkle
It turned out so cute, Jen! And the color looks great on you. Love it!
