Practicing Kickball
Because our team is very new in terms of number of players who have never played in the league before, and because we are so far 0-2 for the season, we decided it would be beneficial to have some practices. A practice was held yesterday after work, and I was one of I think 7 people who attended.
7 was a decent sized number to get in a circle and practice catching and kicking and throwing, and then doing a little mock game like we did before our match on Monday night. I think it helped, and even if I’m still not the greatest player, at least it’s fun. The team we are playing next week is pretty good, so we will still probably lose, but maybe we’ll make it a close game!
After kickball 4 of us girls headed over to the Sportsman to grab a few drinks. It was pretty dead when we walked in there, and so after ordering something to drink, we headed over to the foosball table and played as many rounds as we had quarters for. I found out that I totally suck at the game if I am controlling the goalie, but if I’m the middle players, I am actually quite decent!
I hadn’t eaten too much before the practice, so when one girl’s boyfriend showed up and announced he was hungry, I took them up on their offer to have people join them for dinner. It was after 9pm, so as anyone who lives in SB knows, the choices of where to dine at that “late” hour were pretty limited, but we did find that Chase was still open, so that is where we ate. Best of all, their soup of the evening was chicken noodle! Dude, I LOVE when the soup of the day is chicken noodle! I am so picky it’s one of the only soups I will eat and most restaurants almost never have it and instead offer super fancy kinds. Yay chicken noodle!
