Last night was my monthly bookclub meeting. It was originally supposed to be last week, but the book we chose was so long that a few people (who ended up not even attending!) wanted more time to finish.

Our numbers had been dwindling again, especially with the departure of one of our core members, so we had posted an ad to get some new members. I got maybe 8 or so serious responses to the inquiry, and of those, 2 wound up attending last night. 2 others had planned to attend, but emailed beforehand saying that they were unable to make it, but would try again next month.

The two new girls who came seemed quite nice and to fit in nicely in the group dynamic. We talked to them for awhile—and talked so much that the meeting went longer than it normally does. They talked about how they had plans to do other sort of activities like a kickball league or perhaps a poker and/or game night. Not sure if those will wind up materializing or whatnot, but those could be fun too…
