Viva la Fiesta

I’ve spent most of the time this week(end) trying to avoid all the fiesta festivities. There are just too many people cramming the streets—most of whom will probably try to throw confetti on you anyway.

Today Steve and I wanted to go down to Ventura but this proved impossible due to the gridlock traffic on the southbound 101. Now, that freeway is always a bit crowded this time on a Sunday with all the people returning to LA and whatnot, but I think it was much worse today. I’m sure there were lots of people from out of town who came to celebrate Fiesta in SB.

I picked Steve up down by the wharf last night, and it was crazy driving on any part of State Street. TONS of people, the streets illuminated with extra lighting, police in front of almost every bar, too many cars, etc.

Anyway, thankfully it will all be over soon—at least until next year!

You? Avoiding social situations? Weird. ;^)

Ha ha, funny!

This is beyond just an ordinary social situation though. It’s more like a week-long traffic jam. We had also attempted to visit one of the “mercados” that was set up by the wharf but couldn’t find any parking close by. There were tons of cars and people all around.

Yeah, my brother and I spent all Sunday afternoon driving back to Ventura after our band’s show off State St. It sucked. The drive, that is. The show went pretty well- I’m sure the 5 or so people there dug it. ;-)
