$40
That is the amount I had to pay for gas this morning, at the “reasonably priced” Shell station on Turnpike. That one is usually cheaper than the name brand stations in the downtown area, so I tend to get my gas there during the work week.
The reason I had to pay so much is that the gas stations have finally broken the dreaded $2.99 barrier and are now charging $3 (or probably much more $3.09 at the expensive Chevron on Hollister. I’ll have to look during lunch!) for the premium gas.
I wonder if we’ll ever get back to the days of $1.50, when it only cost me $20 to fill up.

Well, that would be a good side benefit—too expensive to fill 30 gallon tanks or whatever size those SUVs and ridiculous H2s have!
I don’t have a big car, but I can’t use the cheap gas—one of the downsides of having turbo I suppose. I tried when I first got my car and I had to take my car in to get fixed because of it. After that I decided it wasn’t worth the trouble and used the recommended octane.

I’m just glad I don’t drive…
