Mystery Resolved But Not Solved

Well, I’m not sure what time it happened, but the power was restored to the other half of my place without any intervention.

Unfortunately though, my landlord has now looked around and seen that I have waaaaaaaay too many electrical gadgets. He tried to tell me that maybe I shouldn’t use my microwave for awhile “just in case”, but I think I’m going to anyway. Because, the thing is, my power didn’t go out while I was using any appliances. It was out when I came home—and I don’t have anything except for my computer on while I’m away. While it’s true that I have a zillion things plugged in to power strips (there is a serious lack of electrical outlets in the place), I don’t ever have EVERYTHING running at once, and if I did, it would just trip the circuit breaker and shut off everything—not just one part of the room.

I guess I’ll just have to be careful though, because I suspect that if any future weirdness happens with the electricity, he’ll come see if it’s due to anything I’ve been doing, since he now thinks I’m the crazy girl with too many electronics.

Why do you leave the computer on while you are away? Is it doing something in that time, like working for SETI or something?

None of my business. I’m just wondering…

Well I might turn it off if I had to pay for electricity, but it’s included in my rent. I probably should turn it off while I’m away, but I guess I leave it on to have AIM running (out of habit) and sometimes I download things while I’m at work.

It’s such a weird thing electricity is. When my power was out last month for a weekend, the street lamp right in front of my bedroom was on for the entire duration. *shrugs* I guess it just happens.
