What’s Your Starbucks Density?
Everyone knows that there are a heck of a lot of Starbucks locations out there. It’s gotten to the point where there is a Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks. I came across a fun little experiment on Kottke.org.
How many Starbucks are there within a 5 mile radius of your home/work? Put your address into the Starbuck locator and find out! For example, from my apartment in SB there are 5 Starbucks, but surprisingly, near my house in Whittier there are 15.
Try it and see if you can top that.

Eh, considering you are in LA, doesn’t that seem rather small? Some people have over 100 near them, like in NYC and stuff.
Really though I was surprised Whittier offered so many in such a small radius.

10 within 5 miles of my Ventura apartment.
2 of those are across the street in the same plaza- one retail store and one nudged into a corner of Barnes & Noble.
Planet Starbucks indeed. Nothing beats that Daily Show where they find a Starbucks across the street from another Starbucks somewhere in Texas.
3 | Posted by: Keir on January 26, 2005 @ 10:40 PMHehe, did you ever see Best in Show? Parker Posey’s character claims she met her husband while at Starbucks. She saw him at the one across the street, and one day she decided to go to his Starbucks, but that same day, he went to hers.
And in Shrek 2, the giant gingerbread cookie knocks over one Starbucks, so everyone comes running out and go into the one across the street.
Good stuff.
In Brea there is a Starbucks across the parking lot from another. Well, one is nestled in the Birch Street strip of stores, and the other is in back of it in the parking lot off of Imperial. That’s the closest thing I’ve seen personally.
