A Walk Downtown
Well, I finally did a little more Christmas shopping today. I wasn’t really thrilled at the prospect of driving to the part of Downtown with all the shops, like Paseo Nuevo, so I walked instead.
The great benefit of my new apartment is the fact that it is downtown. Now, it’s still many blocks from my place to the heart of Downtown, but on a nice day like today, it was totally feasible. As an added bonus, it gave me a little more exercise, which I’m sure I could use. I’m not sure how long it took me, but it seemed unseasonably warm today, so I wasn’t in any real hurry.
It’s really neat that there are so many places within walking distance now—and best of all, I never REALLY have to pay for parking or struggle to find that last parking space if I don’t want to. That option definitely comes in handy during this time of year, when everyone is crowding State Street to do some last-minute holiday shopping. Of course, the parking lots are often full on the weekends anyway!
That’s all for now from this Downtown Girl. Maybe tomorrow I’ll walk to the library! Oh, the possibilities!
