Death by Graphite?

OMG, I totally just stabbed myself in the wrist with a pencil right now.

The pencil was sitting at the bottom of my keyboard, and my wrist managed to snag it and make the writing tip dig into my wrist. Now there is a little circular dent sitting right on top of one of the veins. If I was trying to off myself, I guess I just found out that this way isn’t effective (unless it’s just a very slow death and the graphite is poisoning me as we speak). It hurt, but luckily didn’t pierce the skin, as the pencil was no longer newly sharpened.

I’m such a dork—my desk is hazardous to my health!

LOL I don’t think I had used a pencil since elementary school until starting this new job. We write on the journals in pencil—why, I don’t know…that’s just the way it is.

I remember why I hated pencils so much—you have to keep sharpening them and they are a pain to write with in a consistent fashion. Soooo archaic :)

And no comment on the never make mistakes thing ;)

how do you write on a journal with pencil?
the journals I know have this nice plastic laminated cover ;)

you’d need one of those big unwashable markers to write on them!

Hehe I guess I should clarify—we write primarily on the table of contents page and title pages of the individual articles. Those pages tend not to be laminated. In instances where the table of contents is printed on the laminated outside cover of a journal, we put a white sticker on it and then write in pencil on the sticker. :)
