Attack of the Peanuts
May I just say that packing peanuts are quite possibly the most annoying invention EVER??
Sure, they might SEEM cool at first…they look kinda little albino “S”s, and they are probably tons of fun if you jump in a container full of them. The peanuts even make their little packing peanut crackly sound, as you break them down into little crumbly pieces when you crush them in your hand.
This brings me to the source of my annoyance. Packing peanuts are apparently only meant for single use. It may seem thrifty to reuse them, but it’s more headache than it’s worth. What was once a perfect “S” shape is now nothing more than thousands of little foamy bits. And these foamy bits are VERY staticy—and they like to stick to everything—especially the journals that were enclosed in the peanuts.
They not only stick to the journals, requiring a hard thumping against the trash can to dislodge, but they also get all over everything—the floor, my chair, my clothing, my hair. Trying to brush them off only increases the static cling—meaning that you can watch it fall off you, and then come rushing back on, as the static brings it back to stick tighter than ever.
It’s maddening, I tell you! I think people should only be allowed to pack things in bubble wrap—it protects things and you can pop them when you’re done! Best of all, you don’t end up looking like you have the world’s worst case of dandruff!

Maddening indeed. Yet, I keep them around here to use again ;)

Hehe and Angela, umm just don’t send me any packages! ;) Well, I take that back….if you want to send me things, go right ahead, but ummm, just don’t send them in the peanuts. :)
