Do you think it’s a bad sign when your company’s head HR guy sees you walking around the office and remarks to the HR woman who hired you that he has no idea who you are?
I mean, I was sorta introduced to him on my first day, and I’ve been working here for over a month…Although, I guess it’s better than him knowing exactly who I am because I did something horribly wrong.
I guess I just find it amusing that the head of the department in charge of taking care of employees doesn’t know who some of the employees are!

would you prefer that the HR person, who has known you for close to 4 years, forgets all about your new contract?
2 | Posted by: Leonieke on September 22, 2004 @ 10:35 AMWell it’s not so much that he doesn’t know me as that the other HR woman made it sound like he didn’t know me because I wasn’t introduced to him. As if he’d remember me if we were introduced.
He did seem a little busy that morning though, so I guess it’s not surprising. There’s not more than 100 employees though, so I guess I thought he’d notice who the new people were.
Hehe and Leonieke, I guess that sounds a little worse! How well does this HR person know you? Hopefully you’re not too close, or it is that much worse that they forgot! I hope too that it didn’t cause you any problems in your new position.

I don’t think the president of the small company I worked for knew who I was for over a year. But figured it out after year two.

It’s a whole new feeling, however, when the big guy (or gal) walks up to you and asks you how you are, “Angela,” or in your case, “Jennifer,” and you don’t have a nametag on. THEN they think you’ll do all the work around there! Or maybe just where I work :)
