God Bless the Internet
I really, really love the internet. I suppose that’s a good thing, considering how much time I spend on it, both at work and at play. I love it even more now that I have discovered an easy source of popular TV shows, movies, etc. available for download.
In the process I decided to check out the show Dead Like Me. I probably would’ve watched it when it was first on, except that it is on Showtime, and I don’t get any of the paid movie channels. Anyway, I got through the entire first season in just a few days, and I think I like it.
I like it despite the fact that I wasn’t a big fan of Mandy Patinkin or Jasmine Guy. As long as Patinkin doesn’t resort to being a constantly singing characature like he was on Chicago Hope, then I think I’ll be fine with him.
Apparently I have a thing for the death shows, since I also enjoy watching Six Feet Under. This show is a little different though, in that the focus is on the dead people who have become reapers to release the souls of people before they meet their demise.
My only real qualm with the show is that they replaced Rebecca Gayheart’s character with some annoying blonde girl. I didn’t like Gayheart’s character initially, but right when she got endearing, they kicked her off. This new one is too one-dimensional I guess.
Anyway, on to Season 2—hopefully it won’t disappoint.

I like dead like me and six feet under, tho I haven’t watched six feet under lately… enjoy the season 2!

And so, which do you like better? Six Feet Under is just about to end its season in 2 weeks, whereas Dead Like Me is almost in the middle…
2 | Posted by: Jenniferthere’s something so wrong about seeing six feet under in spanish… I prefer when they have subtitles, so I guess I’ll go for dead like me…
3 | Posted by: Ivette01 on August 30, 2004 @ 12:50 PMYea I could imagine how weird that would be to watch it in Spanish. I tend to prefer subtitles to dubbing—at least that way you can ignore the text and just listen to the words if you know the language. Sometimes the dubbing is so strange too!
I take it that you get to watch Dead Like Me with subtitles?
4 | Posted by: Jenniferyup, and I really prefer subtitles… it’s weird they give six feet under in spanish, most other tv shows we get from you are subtitled.
5 | Posted by: Ivette01 on August 31, 2004 @ 8:46 AMI miss premium tv. Six Feet Under was definately a staple for a while. Dead Like Me sounds very interesting.
Good think reality tv is still ‘free’
