Did anyone hear about the “suspected sniper” roaming around SB last night? I guess they closed part of the 101 north of Winchester Canyon, which is at the end of Goleta.

Luckily, no one was hurt, but it’s still kinda creepy that, sniper or not, someone was going around randomly shooting at something late at night. I actually took the 101 last night, but going South from campus, so I had no idea this was going on until Kev told me. I guess they caught a suspect around 1am this morning—hopefully it was him.

I find it interesting that they call him a sniper though, considering that no one was hit with at least 6 shots fired. If you are indiscriminately firing, does it still count as sniping?? I was under the impression that snipers aim at targets and hit them.

Either way, I guess it’s still scary if people are shooting up your neighborhood—whether or not they hit anything.
