Heavier Things
Wooo, nothing like two 3-day weekends in a row—especially when it means you only had a 3 day work week. I took Friday off so that I could go to a John Mayer concert that evening in Las Vegas. :)
I really like John Mayer, so of course I was totally excited when Steve said he got tickets to his show at Mandalay Bay. We got pretty decent seats to what was a great concert. I could’ve done without the girl in front of me waving her drink in the air and blocking my view, but other than that it was cool.
John performed a ton of his songs, doing all the ones that got a lot of airplay, as well as a bunch of my favorites that aren’t as well-known by people who don’t own the CDs. He even did a song that he hasn’t released yet. The other cool thing is that the opening act, Teitur, was pretty decent too—I just downloaded his stuff so I can hear more. As far as Teitur goes, as I’m listening to the CD, I think I can say that he is way better live. He also had a good sense of humor, knowing that no one knew who he was. He won the crowd over pretty well by the end though, which was very cool.
I think that Steve enjoyed the concert as well—I know he isn’t as big a fan as I am, but I think he appreciated some of the live versions. I had a nice time, and even if everything wasn’t as awesome as it could’ve been, I hope Steve did too.
I’d also like to say Happy Birthday to my sister. She turned 23 today, and I was able to join her and the rest of my family tonight at The Cheesecake Factory for a birthday dinner.
LOL I don’t know, but I think I went to the most poorly designed Cheesecake Factory in the world. There were TONS of people waiting around to be seated, and then when they called you to be seated, you squeezed past the crowd and waited like 5 minutes until someone actually showed up to take you to your table (after they let you know that they are NOW going to set up your table). The space to maneuver was almost zero. What were they thinking when they designed that place?! I don’t know about the whipped creme thing, I actually haven’t had their cheesecake.
