Friday Five

1. Are you superstitious? Nope. *Knock on wood*

2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition? I’ve HEARD of people arranging their whole lives around certain days, times, cracks in the sidewalk, etc. I’ve never personally known any of these people though, so it’s probably just an urban legend.

3. Believer or not, what’s your favorite superstition? I think the one about if you swallow gum, it will stay in your stomach for 7 years or whatever. This one I think freaks out little kids, because they can disprove that stepping on cracks breaks your mother’s back, but how can you know if the gum actually just stays there? What if you swallowed a whole pack of gum? ;)

4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual? Lucky for me, I don’t believe in luck. I believe most things are just a result of probability, although I still appreciate the coincidences that are facilitated by this probability.

5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not? No, but I kinda wish I did. How easy would it be to know that whatever the stars said would come true? Unfortunately, the predictions are usually so vague that ANYONE can make them apply to their situations.

Hi there. Stepped in to check out your FFs. I’m really astounded by the superstition you mentioned in Q3. I had no idea. Interesting stuff! Thanks..Cheers.

Believing in superstitions is bad luck.
