Forgetful and Lazy
As much as I love doing those weekly photo memes, Phototime Tuesday, Theme Thursday, and Photo Friday, it seems that I have become quite forgetful regarding them. Where I used to diligently check the site the night before or the morning of, and then take my camera with me to work to see what I could come up with, I now find myself arriving at work (like today) and immediately thinking “Dammit, I forgot to bring my camera and check this week’s theme!!”
Actually, the one I’ve forgotten to do the most is the one that I started doing first—the reason I started posting those photos. Once again I’ve forgotten to do Photo Friday.
On the good side, I think I’m still going to do it, because I have taken a lot of pictures and probably have something in my collection that fits the theme. I wonder how many people use old photos as opposed to take a new one for the theme. I’ve gotten soooo lazy—I used to start out taking a photo specifically for the theme, but lately I’ve resorted to using an old photo (albeit one I’ve never posted before) except in instances where I don’t have one that fits the theme.
Is that bad?? I wonder what the ratio is of people who take new pictures vs. people who use pre-existing photos.

You know there’s an e-mail list for Photo Friday? I think he’s overseas somewhere — the e-mail for the week’s challenge usually shows up late Thursday evening…
I use old ones all the time ;) I think a lot of people do that, I usually click through from the e-mail the second it shows up and there are already dozens of people who’ve put up pictures…It’s too cold and grey to go take nice pictures this time of year anyway.
And if you haven’t seen it, http://www.enchantedceiling.com is a gorgeous little meme-any-old-time site (look up, take a picture, send it in). http://www.pictureyourself.org/ is also cool, you submit photo with story about it…excellent killing-time-at-work sites.

I used to have my camera with me 24/7 but these days I hardly ever remember to bring it out with me. I think it might be because I have over 2000 new pictures that I have taken over the last few months that I need to sort through. Plus, with the cold weather out here it is soo hard to take my gloves off, snap a picture, put my gloves back on and do it all over again for the next shot. Oh well, 4 more months ‘till spring!
Oh, and I don’t see anything wrong with using a picture that you have in your collection, I do it all the time. When I remember that is…lol
