Things We Do at Work
Oh no, our bosses might finally be on to us! According to this story appearing in Reuters, employees primarily use IMing clients to gossip and scheme against bosses—not for communicating project info quickly among co-workers in large corporations. What’s sad is I bet that corporate bosses will probably be shocked by this article, whereas most employees are thinking “Duh!” Hopefully businesses don’t start cracking down, as it really is a useful tool—both to reduce stress during the day and for the legit purposes we try to convince our bosses of. :)
In other work related fun, I’ve decided to customize a Launchcast station. It’s actually pretty neat—they have A LOT of songs and artists on here, and it’s FREE. In addition, you get to rate the songs, albums, and artists, and they then use the rankings to give you a station of songs you want to listen to. You also have the option of listening to the stations of other users. It makes for some pretty good listening if you can take the time to customize it the way you want. Check it out!

Oh I wish I thought of using Launchcast today! I forgot my cds and the only radio station that is still streaming online is a station in Atlanta and to be honest, there is only so much top 40 I can take!! I like a little more variety than what they are playing!

I don’t know why I didn’t listen to more music here sooner—it’s great for blocking out annoying coworkers!

3 | Posted by: Ivette01 on September 15, 2003 @ 2:30 PMListening to music at work really is a great way to block out annoying noise at work! It also keeps me motivated and awake…lol I used to have a walkman that enabled me to listen to tv stations. That thing was great!! I would listen to the news and talk shows in the morning and then cartoons in the afternoon. I wonder if they still sell that…hmmmm
But yes, Ivette Launchcast is interesting and pretty cool!!!

Pretty cool they still sell these things. My grandma used to have one, and I’d turn it to soap operas. It’s pretty funny to listen to how dramatic they sound when you can’t see what’s going on. :)
