Friday Five
Some of you may have noticed that I was having some problems with my webpage earlier (that’s what I get for deciding I want to run MT on MySQL and trying to get my webhost to install the necessary modules), so it’s only fitting that this week’s theme deals with websites.
1. How much time do you spend online each day? Oooh, WAAAAY too much. I am online all day at work, and then if I don’t go anywhere after work, I am sometimes online until I go to sleep. I’d say at least 9 hours a day though.
2. What is your browser homepage set to? Blank page. I always have something different in mind when I open the browser and don’t want to get distracted.
3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)? Primarily AIM. I occasionally chat with some German folks on ICQ (since it’s much more popular in Europe). I also have MS Messenger running to alert me when I get hotmail, and have a Yahoo account I never use.
4. Where was your first webpage located? Geocities. I agree with Colleen, I think almost everyone started out here. My first complete site though was located on the UCSB Uweb server.
5. How long have you had your current website? I’ve had the Icyshard.com domain for about 4 months now, but the site in its current incarnation has existed since April 2002. I used to host it on the free space provided by my cable internet provider, but I decided I needed more functionality.

Me too! I hope nothing else goes wrong! I was shocked that my site, which worked perfectly when I went to sleep, seemed to have disappeared by the time I arrived at work.
