Everybody’s Gone Surfin’
This week’s theme deals with web surfing practices.
2. Do you visit mostly blogs, or news or other sites? Mostly blogs.
3. Do you go online every day, or just a couple of days a week? Every day. 24/7 baby! It’s very hard to live without constant internet access and I would die if I didn’t have it at work and home.
4. Do you allow comments on your blog, or not? Yes. That was actually one of the reasons I decided to use MovableType—I liked their commenting system.
5. Do you shop online at all, or at regular stores? Both. I shop online for books, gifts for other people, and other random things. I buy clothes from regular stores though because I need to try things on (you can never tell how something will look on you!)
6. Have you ever done online bill-paying/banking, or not? Yup, it’s pretty cool. I’d do it more often, but I have a TON of checks I want to get rid of. I’d like to start doing it all online though, since it’s free for me.
7. Which news site do you prefer… MSNBC.com or CNN.com? Or do you prefer some other one? Umm, I don’t really like to read news sites. I prefer to be uninformed in such matters, especially since all that news is skewed anyway. But the few times I’ve wanted to read about something going on, I’ve gone to CNN.com.
8. Live chat rooms, or message boards? Message boards. I haven’t done a live chat room in a few years. Message boards are less chaotic and people can come and go whenever and not worry about who is online at that time.
9. Instant messaging or e-mail? Back in like 1999 I would’ve said email, but Instant Messaging has evolved so much that I rarely use email anymore. Hence my answer is overwhelmingly Instant Messaging!
10. Yes or no: have you ever met, or at least talked on the phone with, another blogger? If not, would you want to? Why or why not? Nope, haven’t done any of that. Have talked in the past and even met some non-bloggers a few years ago, but usually it’s not how you expect. Someone would have to be pretty darn cool now for me to wanna go through that effort!
The one time I bought a sweater online I got a sweater that was not even close to what I ordered and 4 sizes to small…havn’t bought a piece of clothing online since!!

My sister ordered me clothes and they sent the wrong ones—they sent maternity clothes instead! I think I’ll stick to ordering only books, CDs, DVDs, and some electronics online, thankyouverymuch. :)
2 | Posted by: JenniferDude. I rember back in the day (this was c. 1997-1998) when I used to get ATLEAST 5 forwards a day from Jen. It was like…. if I only got one or two, I’d know something was wrong… Damn straight it was email.
And then she’d try and turn one of my elementary school friends and me against each by relaying fake instant messages “Well… Kevin said……..” That was her IM thing.
3 | Posted by: m-sauce on June 24, 2003 @ 11:21 PMOMG Maturnity clothes? I would have chewed someones ear off at customer service if they sent me maturnity clothes! LOL
4 | Posted by: Colleen on June 25, 2003 @ 6:57 AMYup, maternity. Stupid Old Navy! At least I finally got the right stuff.
And Martin, you know you and Kev totally loved when I used to try to instigate stuff. I also know you totally miss all those forwards I used to send. Too bad I had to stop, since I think I’ve now seen every forward available on the net.
5 | Posted by: Jenniferfirst of all, we DON’T miss the forwards. I think my hotmail account fills up slower with spam than when you were doing all that. about 1% were appreciated, but there was so much chaff to sift through I ended up deleting almost everything on principle.
As for the instigate stuff, well, it was usually transparent as to what you were trying to do ;)
moo.
6 | Posted by: Kevin on June 25, 2003 @ 10:31 AMYou mean to tell me stuff like “Hey, did you know that Kev says he wants to kick your ass?!” is transparent?! I thought it was rather clever and fun. ;) (maybe not)
And I can’t believe you didn’t cherish each of the 10 emails you’d receive from me every 5 minutes.
M00 to you too!
