Out and About

OK, I think it’s time for an update that’s not some sort of consumer action rant. On Wednesday night I went bowling with Steve. It seems that he has taken a liking to bowling and is determined to become good at it. We got a lane for an hour, in which time we managed to bowl 4 games.

My scores still aren’t GREAT, but I managed to break 100 every time—I got a 102, 110, 113, and 122. Steve did pretty well some games, but one he got an 88, heehee. It was fun, especially since there were only 2 of us and we got to just bowl really fast. It was pretty weird because there was almost no one there that night—I guess because it wasn’t a weekend. I saw my coworker Janice’s fiancee there because he is in the league and that is his night to bowl. He came over and asked if I was practicing for the next time the coworkers go bowling. I said yes. :)

Last night I went to the sneak preview of Old School. The movie wasn’t that great—-it had some amusing moments, but overall was probably made more for the teenage male crowd. In fact there were a bunch of teenage males in attendance and they seemed amused. Mostly though, I lament the fact that Vince Vaughn is looking kinda old. I guess it’s not the end of the world, since Swingers was probably the pinnacle of his career anyway—I can just watch that again.

Speaking of Vince Vaughn, I’ve heard of two sightings of him. One of Steve’s friends saw Vince directing traffic at a party in LA. I think he was a guest of the party, but was really drunk and decided it would be a good idea to direct traffic. The friends were crossing the street at the time when they saw him, and were like “Hey Vince, what’s up?” Vince was just really happy that anyone recognized him anymore—apparently a lot of the notoriety has died down. This could also be attributed to the fact that he’s gained a little weight.

The second sighting of him was in Vegas. At the blackjack table I was sitting at, a guy there mentioned he saw Vaughn at the tables in Hard Rock Hotel. Apparently he was drunk and pretty belligerent. It seems that the more belligerent he got, the nicer the staff was to him. I guess it was pretty funny to watch, because at one point he just started throwing chips at the dealer. I’m still waiting until I have a cool star sighting.
