A Very Merry Unbirthday

Some people may be wondering where I disappeared to. On Friday night I went home to see my family and get presents and stuff. Saturday my mom and I went shopping at Express in the Brea Mall, where I got $380 worth of clothing for $165 or so. Not bad. :) Later in the evening I went to Outback Steakhouse with my parents and Grandma. I ordered a Wallaby Darned, one of their peach alcoholic drinks. The funny thing is, I got carded. I never get carded when I'm with Vince, but when I am with my family, I do.

The next morning we were off to Vegas! We stayed at Sam's Town, a place I've stayed at a few times before. It's pretty far off the Strip, and has a Western Theme. It's changed quite a bit since my family was last there--they've added a movie theater, moved some restaurants around, and added and subtracted a few. The pool and volleyball courts my sister and I used to hang out at MIGHT still be there, but I have no idea, as I couldn't figure out how to gain access to them! Anyway, we gambled a bit, and I played BJ at the tables for the first time in Vegas--I didn't play them the last time I went, sticking to the slot machines instead. I won a bunch of hands, but overall not a big win or anything, but it was still fun. I gambled at Sam's Town, Caesar's Palace, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. We meant to go in some of the other casinos, but didn't get around to it. What's sort of amusing is that I got carded in Luxor. It was the ONLY place I got carded, and they waited until I had been at the tables for like 45 minutes! I saw the Pit Boss come over to the dealer and whisper to her, and then say "ID PLEASE". Of course then she found out I'm almost 2 years to the day older than the legal minimum gambling age!

Other than that, no one else carded me and it was pretty uneventful in that respect. We did manage to play a few games of bowling back at our hotel--something my sister and I used to do a lot, since there's not much else to occupy yourself with when you're underage in Vegas. This time of course, it was merely for something else to do besides gamble the whole time. It's nice being able to take full advantage of the town--especially the ability to stand on the casino floor without getting yelled at!

So anyway, now I'm back and I have to go back to work tomorrow. I had taken Monday and Tuesday off, and even though I have to work, the 3 day week will be nice--especially when coupled with the upcoming Veteran's Day Holiday. :) Anyway, only 2 hours till my birthday, woooo. Oh yea, Old Navy sent the correct items finally, so I have my sister's gift, and even managed to get $19 in store credit for the maternity items, which I will redeem when I go home for Thanksgiving. Now I just have to see what else I will get! :)
