Parlez vous Francais?
This weekend was not as exciting as the last, but I got to sleep in and finally catch up for being so tired due to Tuesday’s bowling. Vince and I rented Amelie, which I liked, although Vince was sorta annoyed with. He says he recognizes that it’s a good film, and that he’ll need to see it again to like it. To complete the “frenchness” of the weekend, we also watched The Dinner Game. It was good, although I got pretty annoyed with the character of Francois Pignon, a stereotypical French Jackass that provides comic relief. These kinds of characters bother me because they are so over the top in their stupidity and are so dense that they never realize how much other people dislike them. Of course, I suppose I know people in real life who fit this description, so I guess I can’t really say it’s a fictitious stereotype. Also in the spirit of France, I rewatched Sabrina on cable, which partly took place in Paris. Adding to the oddness of the French theme, is one in which references to the Grim Reaper and The Seventh Seal abounded. I don’t know how or why, but it just seemed that those references came up a lot this weekend. Strange. Anyway, other than that, I didn’t do much other than wash my car. Exciting stuff. :)
