It’s all about the Benjamins
Happy Pay Day!! Getting paid is always a good thing—it’s too bad it only happens once a month for me. My weekend was ok, nothing too exciting. Watched a few movies, which included But I’m a Cheerleader and L.A. Confidential. The weather was also pretty warm here in SB so I sat outside and read and did crossword puzzles. This managed to give me a somewhat strange tan, but it’s all good. Any sunlight is better than none, which is how much I get at work.
Speaking of work, today was very unproductive. It is the end of the fiscal year, so they had to run all the reports. This meant that they shut down the system so that no one could mess with the year-end figures. This also meant that I had to find a way to spend 8 hours at work. A combination of talking trash about some coworkers, playing MahJong Solitaire, chatting, emailing, and reading Stern, a German magazine that I enjoy (probably the German equivalent of People Magazine. Somehow the day ended, and tomorrow can’t go any slower.
4th of July is coming up, and I’m still not sure what my plans are. Since it’s on a Thursday this year, I’m thinking I might take Friday off. This would be good too, because it’ll give me a chance to run some errands I can only do during the day, like buy touch-up paint for the scratches on my car. Also speaking of this weekend, on Saturday night I am going to LA to the Hollywood Bowl to see the Sound of Music Sing-along (don’t laugh). It should be fun though. A bunch of people who love the movie singing along to it, and some even dressing as their favorite characters. My mom is way excited, and hopefully it’ll be fun. More about that after it happens.
