At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do, because no one told me any definite plans. However, today when I woke up around 11am, Kevin informed me that there would be a BBQ at his house at 3:30. Vince didn't want to go, and seemed somewhat bitter that there was this event, but he told me to go, and so I went without him. There were a few people there that I had never seen before, some I've only seen a few times, and then some people I kinda know--like Nick, Jeff, even Mike who I just learned is back down here for Summer School. I actually arrived at the party around 3, and lots of people came quite a bit later, like Melany and Mike. I left the party around 8 to go with Vince to see the fireworks down at East Beach at 9. There was quite a bit of traffic and a whole lot of pedestrians, but we were lucky to find parking at a shopping center a few blocks down and near the freeway entrance. The fireworks were decent--they were free after all. After I got back, I heard that Melany had left me a voicemail. It was a bit hard to make out, since she was pretty drunk and slurring her words, but basically it said something like "Well I didn't wind up going to the fireworks so I was wondering if you wanted to come to an orgy. I guess not because you're not home." I asked Kevin about it and he confirmed that she got quite drunk, and that she thought she was referencing something I'd get, but he didn't know what it was, and neither did I. Strange. :)
