The Hills are Alive…

Colin FarrellOK, so tonight I got back from my trip to LA to see the Sing-a-Long Sound of Music. It was pretty cool—a lot of people dressed up in wacky outfits, everyone knew all the songs and all the little nuances of the film, and had fun—some people even brought some props! The cool part was that my mom and I sat two rows behind 3 of the child actors from the movie (who are obviously all grown up now) and near the director. I got two of the kids to sign the back of a card that came in the “fun pack” they give you to help film participation. The BEST part though was my quasi-star sighting. Who should I see bounding up the stairs with a giant red cooler than Colin Farrell, co-star with Tom Cruise in the film Minority Report (which, btw, is a pretty good film). The reason I was psyched about that is because even though I’ve lived my whole life in the LA area, I never managed to run into anyone famous. While he’s not a huge name yet, maybe that will change. It didn’t seem like he got recognized, since there weren’t people around him. I did almost literally run into him on the stairs coming back from the bathroom, but nothing was said. He looked totally different, with his shaved head and goatee that he is sporting for the filming of Daredevil, but since I saw him on The Daily Show sporting that look, I instantly recognized him. I might add that I think it’s cool, because he’s one of the few stars that is around my age that doesn’t play teenage roles—he’s born in 1976, AND he’s pretty cute. The Irish accent isn’t bad either.

Hmm besides that, nothing really happened during my weekend. Oh, except I almost got rear-ended like 5 times on the 101 coming home. Stupid drivers who follow too close at high speeds and then can’t slow down in time when traffic suddenly slows. I’ve never almost been hit so many times in my life! Luckily my car and I emerged unscathed.
